Removal of Conditions Approval for Actor from Malaysia
We recently received an I-751 removal of conditions approval for an actor from Malaysia. Congratulations to our client!
A removal of conditions is a petition that is filed when someone received conditional residency. Conditional residency is a form of lawful permanent residence that is only valid for two years. In this case, the reason why the client had conditional residency was because his lawful permanent residence was approved before he had been married for two years. In these cases, another petition must be filed within the 90 day period prior to the conditional residency expiring with additional evidence that it is a bona fide marriage, or in the event that you are now separated, that you meet one of the exceptions. In this case, our client was still married to the U.S. citizen husband and so we filed with additional evidence of their bona fide marriage.
