My name is Amir Rasoulpour & I am a New York City based attorney with over a decade of experience focused on immigration law. I’ve represented clients across artistic disciplines to obtain immigration status, including professionals in visual arts, performance, music, culinary arts, fashion, writing, multimedia arts, advertising, and production. I have also presented on immigration options for artists to international students, including at School of Visual Arts (SVA) and Columbia University School of the Arts.

I began my career and continue representing binational families navigate the family based immigration system, including through adjustments of status in the United States and consular processing at US Embassies worldwide. I have successfully prepared waiver applications when necessary, including for unlawful presence and fraud/misrepresentation, and am experienced handling other issues that may arise in the family based context, including requests for humanitarian reinstatement for deceased petitioners & VAWA protections for family members experiencing domestic violence.

While I now focus on family based immigration & immigration solutions for artists working in the United States, I have experience with all areas of immigration law, including treaty investor visas, asylum, removal defense, and other humanitarian relief. I also am an adjunct professor at CUNY Hunter College where I teach courses on immigration law and policy.
