O-1B MPTV Approval for Producer from India

We recently received an O-1B Motion Pictures and Television (MPTV) Approval for a Producer who is a national of India.

The beneficiary had been working in film production for 3 years in the United States— first under OPT and then with a two-year STEM OPT extension— with various film production companies and advertising agencies. She also had produced and directed her own short film which was beginning to enter the film festival circuit when the petition was submitted. Since she was working in film, the higher MPTV standard applied, meaning we had to demonstrate she had achieved “extraordinary achievement” in film production, rather than “significant recognition” which applies to other O-1B petitions. It was approved without a request for evidence.

If you work in the film industry and want to discuss you potential eligibility for an O-1B visa, do not hesitate to reach out to schedule a consultation. I can be reached directly at amir@rasoulpourlaw.com.
