Naturalization Approval for Asylee Animator

We recently were notified that an animator we had provided a consultation for in connection with their naturalization application recently was sworn in as a U.S. citizen.

Many individuals can and do successfully apply for naturalization on their own. Unlike other immigration petitions which can become very complicated, naturalization can be more straightforward so long as you meet the continuous presence and physical presence requirements, you do not fall under any grounds of deportability, and you can establish good moral character. We are happy to provide consultations to individuals applying for naturalization to determine if you are eligible and help resolve any questions you may have about the process if you choose to apply on your own. In this case, the applicant had specific questions regarding their past asylee status and how that may impact the application process. After speaking together and addressing these concerns, they decided they could apply on their own.

Sometimes it is important to have counsel represent you on a naturalization application, and sometimes having some advice in the course of a consultation can be enough for you to apply on your own— every case is different. In all cases, consulting an immigration attorney prior to submitting any application or petition to the immigration services is a good idea because the laws are complex. Don’t hesitate to reach out for a consultation at amir@rasoulpourlaw.com.
