E-2 Approval for Flair Bartending Services Company at US Consulate in Madrid

We recently received an E-2 approval for the owner and executive of a Flair Bartending Services company at the U.S. Consulate in Madrid. Congratulations to our client.

We had initially explored an O-1B visa for the client since he had many achievements in the field of Flair Bartending, but his goals were more to manage and direct the company which aligns with an E-2 Treaty Investor Visa. His initial petition for his company was filed with the USCIS with an investment amount of approximately $50,000. The USCIS grants E-2 status for 2 years. When that period was nearing its expiration, we applied at the US Consulate in Madrid for an E-2 visa and his investment amount had significantly increased during the two years of doing business.

While an O-1B is a great visa for various artistic disciplines, if you want to run a business and hire employees to accomplish your artistic endeavors, an E-2 visa might be a good options if you have capital to spend and your have citizenship with a treaty country. Another benefit to the E-2 visa is that your derivative spouse gets employment authorization, where the spouse of an O-1 does not.
