Citizenship Approval for Poet from U.K.

We received an approval for naturalization (US citizenship) for a Poet from the United Kingdom. Congratulations to our client!

Our client was a long-term green card holder who had not yet applied for US citizenship. During the covid-19 pandemic, he was absent from the United States for more than 180 days but less than 365 days. While an absence of more than 180 days can create a presumption that an applicant for naturalization has not maintained continuous residence as a lawful permanent resident for five years (one of the requirements for naturalization), we were able to successfully rebut this presumption through documentation showing his continued ties to the United States as well as the unexpected nature of the covid-19 pandemic on his ability to timely return to the United States.

If you are considering to apply for naturalization, don’t hesitate to reach out for a consultation to discuss all of the requirements and how you may be eligible. I can be reached at amir@rasoulpourlaw.com.
