O-1B Approval for Architectural Designer from Saudi Arabia
We recently received an O-1B extraordinary ability visa approval for an architectural designer from Saudi Arabia who was petitioned by her architecture firm. Congratulations to our clients!
In this case, the beneficiary was working at the firm on her STEM OPT and had taken on a senior role at the firm for an important multi-year architecture project. Although the field of architecture is a STEM field very much based in the sciences, it is also an art form and therefore the beneficiary was eligible for O-1B classification which is for individuals who work in the arts. Many disciplines could be viewed as either an O-1A (for individuals in Science, Business, Education or Athletics) or an O-1B (which is for individuals in the Arts), and deciding on which one to pursue is fact specific. In this case, we believed the O-1B to be the right choice given the beneficiary’s qualifications and future goals. It was approved without a request for evidence.
